The Gmail integration syncs your email threads with customer accounts so you can see conversations in context without switching between tools. Emails appear in the account’s activity timeline alongside meetings, tasks, and other interactions.

How to connect

1

Open Connections

Go to Settings → Connections and click Add Connection.
2

Select Gmail

Choose Gmail from the list and sign in with the Google account you use for customer communication.

What syncs

  • Email threads — conversations are linked to customer accounts and displayed in the activity timeline
  • Timestamps — message send and receive times are recorded
  • Sender and recipient — Zudo captures who sent and received each message

How emails appear in Zudo

After connecting Gmail, email threads with your customers appear on the account detail page under the activity timeline. You can see the full thread in context with notes, meetings, and other account activity.

How email response time affects health scoring

Zudo tracks how quickly your team replies to customer emails as part of the automated health score. Slower response times lower the email response time component of the score. You can view the breakdown and adjust weights in health scoring.

How Zudo matches emails to accounts

Zudo determines email direction — customer email vs. team email — based on your organization’s domains. Emails from domains outside your org are treated as inbound customer messages. This is how response time is calculated and how threads are attributed to the right accounts.
